Promising Playwright Contest

The Colonial Players is hosting our Biennial Promising Playwright Contest to promote the work of aspiring playwrights with unpublished and professionally unproduced work. The contest is open to writers residing in any of the states descendant from the Original Thirteen Colonies - CT, DC, DE, GA, MA, MD, NC, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, SC, VA or WV.

One-Act or full-length scripts submitted must be unpublished and never have been produced professionally and must have a cast limit of ten. We do not accept musicals.

The winning playwright will receive a $1000 cash award, and the script will be workshopped with the playwright in July 2011, with the possibility, at CP's discretion, of future production. Submissions must be postmarked between September 1st and December 31, 2010.
