We start our season in 1940’s Brooklyn, New York with Joseph Kesselring’s much-beloved dark comedy Arsenic and Old Lace. A pair of sweet elderly sisters (who love their nephew Mortimer very much) have a little secret (or eleven) in their cellar. Comedy ensues when Mortimer discovers just what that secret is and what his aunts get up to when he’s not at home.

The White Rose

In The White Rose, by Lillian Garrett-Groag, a group of university students in Nazi-controlled Munich form an intellectual resistance. The White Rose follows their arrest, interrogation, and eventual execution. This true story examines the complex relationships that develop among a group of people, all clinging to beliefs that ultimately can not be fulfilled at this point in time.

Our holiday selection is the warm, family-friendly The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, based on the book by Barbara Robinson, and adapted for the stage by the Seattle Children’s Theater. The town’s Christmas pageant has become boring and predictable over the years. This year, however, looks to be a little different, now that those awful Herdman kids are trying out. Hilarity and mayhem run rampant in this festive tale of understanding, caring, and the meaning of Christmas.

Riotous humor, plus music that will leave you humming, is an equation for a night of theater you won’t, like, soon forget!
