2013 06 29 pub reading glassesIt’s Last Call for the 2014 Pub Reading Season!

The first Sunday of the months of May, June, July, and August, Harry Browne's (downtown on State Circle) will host the Colonial Players Pub Reading Series. Our last pub reading of the season will take place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2014.

Richard Strand's "The Death of Zukasky" is a modern-day farce set in corporate America where climbing the ladder of success means manipulation, mind games, and sometimes murder. Preparing for their usual morning conference, three sales associates discover their supervisor dead at his desk. All three of them are next in line for Zukasky's job. A.C. immediately begins to scheme; Anne is insecure; and Barry is all indecision and blithering. The associates level each other in a hilarious game of “one-ups-man-ship” packed with more sarcastic one-liners than even Aaron Sorkin could dream up. Every page will have you laughing into your drink and rooting for each character to finish the others off.

Stop by and enjoy theatre in a congenial atmosphere. Comedy and drinks...what more do you need to get over the Sunday Night Blues?

These readings are very popular, so you may want to get there early to guarantee a seat, but short enough that you can stand and still enjoy them.
