The Play Selection Committee has begun the process of assembling a varied and balanced slate of plays for CPs 71st season (September 2019 – June 2020). The slate will contain 6 main season shows, plus a special Holiday production.

Once again, the committee is welcoming Director/Play packages for consideration as part of the slate. Up to two packages may be selected for the slate. The Committee is not considering one-person shows for the season slate, and already has the Holiday shows that will be considered. Other than those two categories, directors may submit any other show, including musicals.

• Name and contact information (email, preferred phone number and mailing address.)
• PDF copy of the script you are applying to direct. (If you are unable to provide a pdf, please contact the artistic director at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to make other arrangements.)
• If you are submitting for a musical, please provide a link to music files of the soundtrack or provide a CD of the music.
• Copy of your resume, including your directing and/or acting experience
• Conflicts from October 27 - November 10, 2018

All of the above information is due by Saturday, October 20, 2018.

All directors considered for a Director/Play package will be required to interview with the Play Package selection committee. Interviews will be scheduled between October 27 and November 10. Additional information regarding the interview will be provided upon scheduling.

If your show is selected to move forward, it will be added to those shows under final consideration for the season slate by the Play Selection Committee. If your show is selected for the slate, you will be expected to present at our annual Sneak Peek, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, February 2, 2019. You will also be expected to attend our annual Season Kick-off meeting (for directors, designers, consultants, technicians, and crew), which will be scheduled in the spring of 2019.

If your package is not selected, the play you submitted will not be considered further for Season 71. You may then put in to direct any open show selected for the season slate. The Director Selection process for those shows will begin in March 2019.
